Be complete, follow the rules and use a spell checker. Remember to delete the directions in the (brackets) before sending this in. Your character must be approved before we accept your application to the group, and if you are already a group member before you can begin any posting. Don’t change any information on your application once approved unless you get permission from us first. Please view our Rules and Character Restrictions on our website before applying. Age/Date of Birth: (The exact age of your character, and their birth date. Exact age must be listed for GM knowledge.) Apparent Age: (How old your character appears to others. In most circumstances characters will look their age. Put N/A if they don't look older or younger than they are.) Gender: (Male or Female) Height: (Use feet and inches, no metric measurements please.) Weight: (Make it consistent with Height if your character isn't abnormally muscular or obese. Use pounds, no metric measurements please. Do a little research on weight/height.) Also refer to racial appearances.) Marks/Scars/Tattoos: (Does your character have any distinguishing physical characteristics?) Follow the magite chart listed on the websites history section.) Carried Possessions: (What does your character keep on him or her on any given day; a lucky coin or piece of jewelry? If there's nothing special about the item then no need to go into great detail. If there is some significance to the item then elaborate; is it an heirloom, a souvenir from an adventure, or just something bought for a few coins from a traveling merchant? This section does not include their usual clothing or weapons.) Clothing and Armor: (Describe the cut, color, style, and material. Is there a crest or marking on it? ) Weapons: (If there's nothing special about your weapon there's no need to go into detail, just be sure to list the type of weapon. Ex: Long sword, two-handed battle-axe, bow, claws, etc. If you're in a detailed mood you can list where your character got the weapon, and any markings or ornamental decorations or crests.) (Note: weapons of and armor of fine quality are expensive and uncommon, so take this into mind. Also any weapon/armor or item of magical nature needs full explanation as to what it does. Magic items in the world are rare, so items with multiple abilities that we deem are too powerful will not be accepted.) .:Character’s Personal Information:. Likes: (Likes and Dislikes are quirks more than anything else. Have some fun with this one, maybe your character has an irrational fear of rain or loves cats. This is a list, not an in depth description. Use one word descriptions if possible. Example: Birds, sky, trees, mud, bumble-bees, laughing and good jokes.) Dislikes: Merits: (Merits and Flaws are just that, good points and bad points. These will help you define your character's personality. Go easy on the Merits and make sure that the Flaws are going to have some impact on gaming. Try to mention as many Flaws as you do Merits. This should be made in a list form, using one or as few words as possible to describe their merits and dislikes. Example: Stubborn, energetic, swift, cold, cruel, angry, depressive. You can elaborate further on their merits and flaws in their personality. For assistance with flaws, read our flaws list on our website. http://www.darkworldrpg.com/lore/flaws.html ) Flaws: Worst Fears: (No one is fearless, just like no one is flawless. Supply us with things that your character has a great sensitivity to. What are they really afraid of? What things set them off? How do they react to such things?) Personality: (This field defines who your character is. This is where you can further describe your characters likes, dislikes, flaws and merits. How exactly do these things pertain to them? How do they affect them? Try to include opinions, beliefs, and social relations/status. Is your character friendly, shy, noble, cruel? We want at least five well developed sentences on this one.) History: (Our past determines the type of people we are today. Go deep into your character's past; their birth, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and any major events. Who were his/her parents, was their life difficult or simple? Think this through! As your character develops in the game you can add to the history, but not change what is already written. We want at least two paragraphs of at least four sentences each, this may sound like a lot but if you really get into your character it won't be much of a problem. It is not our job to make up a history for your character. Putting down 'no one really knows' or 'there isn't much to explain' is grounds for immediate rejection.) Sample Writing: (We require all people who submit a character application to write one sample post for their character in a Dark World situation. Whether they are at a tavern, entering a town, traveling the world it matters not. This is where you show us how well you write, your creativity, and how talented you are at making your character come to life. Please use third person perspective, as that is how we write for the Dark World RPG. **If you are already a member of the Dark World RPG you may skip this section, for we already know your writing style.) Player Agreement By submitting this character the applicant agrees to the rules and terms of the Dark World RPG. The applicant also acknowledges that this RPG is rated 'R', for language, adult content, and violence. In accordance to our 'R' rating the applicant hereby states that they are at least seventeen (17) years of age or older.
