Personality: Sigrid is a driven woman out to rid the world of everything evil and hateful in it; namely demonic presences, bandits, pirates, raiders, and slavers. She does this by being ruthless in her pursuit of any signs of banditry and injustice in the countryside, sort of a one-woman crusade. Cities are a mystery for her as she comes from a very rural area, not accustomed to them makes her a bit leery while she is in them. Generally her size is enough to discourage would be attackers, but she knows not to kill anyone if she can help it, having been incarcerated for 6 months in a town, for the `accidental' killing of a thief. She comes from a proud heritage, and as the last of her people tends to be a bit stubborn, even if an offer of help is genuine. She does tend to make snap-judgments concerning people, but her feelings are usually correct. She is a bit standoffish, especially with males of any race or species, having been severely mistreated by males in general, it will be some time before she is able to enter into any sort of romantic or even friendly relationship, the most any male could hope to accomplish for now, would be a cordial, polite hands-off friendship. She does tend to jump into the middle of conflicts, maybe not thinking things through all the way, especially if she feels someone is being bullied. She keeps an eye out to better peoples lot in life, either with a gift of food, or maybe some companionship or help. Generally those she will help without reservation are women, children, and the elderly. Mostly in social situations, she has no knowledge of the nobility aside from the customs of her clan; she is usually polite, unless the person thinks that they are better than her, which is usually cause for friction.
History:

Sigrid was born the last child of the Jarl, not a very prominent position, but nevertheless, her father was a king. She was raised as befitted a princess, but different from a princess in a castle, this princess worked! She was able to tend fields, prepare game, cook, clean, and do everything a good wife knows how to do. She was so excited about her new life with her husband; she would be in her own home, and raising her own children.

Alas, it was not to be. During the reception in the great hall of her father, raiders struck! It was not known what they came for, or even what they were. After the initial capture they had kept her eyes covered with a blindfold, so she never saw anything of her attackers, and they were too wily to leave any of themselves behind, she still got an impression that it was something infernal, as the miasma of sulfur hung in the air after they left.

Crushing despair piled upon guilt, and her grief, broke her spirit, and her battered body was wracked with heaving convulsions from the torment she had endured, and the tears she wept. She passed out, oblivious to everything around her, just on the near side of death, but with the spark of life still in her.

A healer of the name of Belinden was scanning the mountains and upon seeing the huge column of smoke, went to investigate. She came upon the site of the massacre, and found the battered body of Sigrid still clinging to life fitfully. She attempted healing magics upon her and was able to help her, albeit the process took many months.

During her recuperation, her rescuers helped her, they taught her battle skills, they gifted her with a greataxe, armor, and taught her the skills of the hunt as well as the properties of herbs. They readied her and trained her as best as they knew how, and set her upon the path that she had to travel, that she was destined to journey. Sigrid set out, and has traveled almost two years righting wrongs, and fighting injustice in the world. She has learned some harsh lessons, during her time in the world, but is the wiser for it.
