He enjoys helping others--and will easily overcome his shyness when he sees someone is in need of assistance. Tavas is not the most talkative person--and is especially very shy around women (mostly towards the ones that flirt)--often stuttering or becoming red-faced.

History:      Tavas was a commoner, on the path to become a Cleric. However, through a terrible series of events--that door has been closed forever, and skills never to be obtained. As any child in training--Tavas had a mentor. He was taught under a man named Udara Phineas Faust.

The mentor was aged, a stubborn old fool that still loved to teach the trade of magic. Tavas's mentor simply would not allow his age to force him to retire. One day during a lesson, Mentor Faust was stricken with sharp terrible chest pains. Instantly recognizing the signs of a heart attack--Tavas jumped to his feet. Scared for his mentor's life--Tavas did the first thing that came to mind--find a way to heal his teacher. Find a way to heal him, and heal him fast!

Grabbing the first available magite stone (though he did not truly know how to use it, just figured in theory it would work)--Tavas tried to cast a healing spell. In theory he thought it would work--but little did Tavas know the dangers he put himself--and even potentially others into. The magite stone Tavas had grabbed was not attuned to him, fortunately for Tavas the stone was purified.

With stone in hand, Tavas quickly went to his teacher's side--wanting to heal him through the use of magic. But using the unattuned magite cost Tavas more than just his teacher's life. As Tavas tried to use the stone in order to heal, it became unstable and began to absorb more energy from Tavas than the boy had bargained for.

The magite he held in his hand became like a flame--burning bright and hungry. It ate at his flesh--burning the skin on the hand that held it. The boy was forced to drop the stone. Suddenly weak--Tavas collapsed limply to the ground--falling into a comma for months. When Tavas finally awoke--it was to discover terrible news. His mentor had passed away--the heart attack had taken his life. Tavas was heart broken to hear that he had not been able to save the old man, the heart attack took Mentor Udara Faust's life.

The boy fell into tears--knowing he had failed his teacher and himself for not being able to think more effectively under pressure. As he recuperated from his own trauma, the boy noticed that his right hand--the one that had held and tried to use the unattuned magite stone--had been terribly scarred from the burning.

After recovering enough to return to school--Tavas discovered he is unable to use magic. In fact--Tavas noticed something far worse than that. The boy can not even stand to have magic cast upon him or near him, even in aid.

Magic makes him ill--physically. Now when magic is cast his way, Tavas reactions can vary. Symptoms vary and can range in severity. List of symptoms include itchy-watery eyes, congestion, sneezing, coughing, nausea, vomiting, headaches, muscle pains, fever, blisters, rashes, difficulty breathing, mental confusion, dizziness, fatigue, weakness in arms and/or legs, nose bleeds, bleeding from mouth, ears, or eyes, and unconsciousness.

Tavas finds himself still uneasy around mages, but is unable to shy away from his dream. Tavas still walks the path of helping and healing others--the natural way. He has chosen to pursue his dream of and become and herbalist--and now wonders the countryside in hopes of helping others with the skill.
