Huvel

Huvel(Or commonly, Half-Elsyven) are the result of a Human and Elsyven cross breeding. These multi-racial beings will possess features from both the elsyven and Human parents, these features can vary from looking almost exactly Human or Elsyven, but are commonly an even mix of the two, except for the ears which are typically Human in shape except for a slight point to the tips.

Typically a Huvel's looks depend on their parents. If a Huvel has a Human mother and a Elsyven father, they tend to look more Human, whereas a Huvel who has an Elsyven mother and a Human father will tend to look more Elsyven. Huvel will never gain huge physical mass like their Human ancestors though, but they can obtain a far more muscular physique than that of their Elsyven parent. They usually gain a slightly higher agility than their Human parent as well, but not as great as their Elsyven parent. Yet they do scar, can possess physical markings such as freckles, hair, and tan like their Human parents.

Since a Huvel can live to a maximum of 175 years, he or she will out-live any Human friends or relatives, but grow old too quickly to be a real strong part of Elsyven society. A Huvel would reach adulthood around the age of 38-40 years, but in human standards will look only half their actual age (a 40 year old Huvel will look 22/ 20ish, etc.). Some parts of Elsyven society frown on Huvel, viewing half bloods as impurities or marks of emotional 'weakness' amongst their kind. And being that the Elsyven have a far smaller population than Humans, it upsets them when one of their own kind takes to a Human lover instead of one of their own. Of course some half-bloods are welcomed into the Elsyven society, but only if they shun their Human lineage and conform to their culture. This is where many of the Huvel fall short, for they find that no matter how much they deny their Human lineage they still have Human-like emotions... and have difficulty adjusting to the Elsyven ways of life.

This same outlook can also be frowned upon in Human society, especially for those that are racist. Because the Humans and Elsyven have such fluctuating relations its hard to say what every society thinks of a Huvel, and can be dependent on circumstances. Some nations are less tolerant of Huvel than others, some not caring much about them at all, to others being outright hateful and openly persecuting the 'abominations'.

Huvel can also only reproduce with an Elsyven or a Human, and no other race. Because a Huvel has two forms of lineage they can have children who can pass on one part of their ancestry. Being that if a Huvel were to have children with a human, those children would be human in appearance and with no Elsyven attributes. Likewise for a Huvel who mates with a Elsyven. The only time you'd get a Huvel from a Huvel is if two half-bloods came together, which would be a rare occurrence in itself since Huvel are quite rare.
