KojintoraThe Kojintora are a race of ancient cat people who have lived on the planet Calamia since the beginning of time. Not much is known about where they come from or how they came to exist. Even though they have lived on Calamia since their existence, people who do not know about them often treat them as demons, yet they are an honorable race who are strongly linked to their clans. Their kind is playful, yet proud, keeping to their word of honor. They are not fond of cities, preferring nature, and will avoid them if possible. Kojintoras are not seen very often because of this, and are occasionally spotted in forest regions. They are human like in shape, but their body is much more muscularly designed. Their feline traits are quite dominant in their overall appearance. A soft warm fur covers all of their body, which is usually patterned similar to some species of feline. Depdending on their region some Kojin grow thicker fur coats. Clans tend to share similar coat paterns. Kojintoras’ grow human like hair on their heads, thicker than average, usually just the females, although some males do grow hair as well. Their ears are located on the crown of their head, just like a cats, each shaped differently and in different sizes. They have a long tail, which helps them to balance their strong agile bodies for climbing and combat. Kojintoras usually walk upright on the pads of their feet. Their facial structure usually tend to look human, except for their large cat eyes and their damp cat-like fleshy noses. Some kojintoras do have stronger catlike faces than others. Over all they stand quite tall, heights ranging from 5’ tall to 7’ tall. Kojintora on average live to about 400 years. In combat a kojintora is very deadly. They use their powerful bodies to fight and attack their opponents and prey. Each finger and toe is equipped with a deadly claw. Many kojintoras have a great sense of taste, loving meats preferably cooked, but they can and will eat meat raw if necessary. They have little taste for vegetables, dinning on them rarely or only if combined with a meat, but enjoy breads and butter, and as any cat, milk. Kojintoras can swim although most have a phobia of water deeper than they can stand upright in. Being a cat themselves kojintoras tend to have a fondness and bond with other cats. They are excellent climbers and can run extremely fast. Kojin possess a form of dark vision, where they can see the dim outlines of objects around them in about a 10ft radius. They prefer to wear light or minimal clothing. Kojintoras cannot us magite themselves, but have an inert ability to detect magic in use. They can't pinpoint the exact location of its use but they sometimes can give a general direction, especially if the spell is large. This ability alone has lead many powerful wizards and slave trades to take kojintoras and confine them. Most kojintoras like to live in large dense forests with lots of prey and trees to climb, although some like to live in rocky mountainous areas or large rolling plains. They take great pride in their land and protect it fiercely if needed. There are also rouge kojintoras, and kojintora's that are traveling for their adulthood passage ritual. Rogues are kojin shunned or exiled from their clan. They tend to settle an area of land on their own or wander from place to place, and are often looked down on or feared by other kojins. These rouge kojintoras are usually the type that travelers may come across, but once in a while they'll encounter a kojin on their adulthood passage ritual. These kojin are to go on a journey of discovery for several months up to one year. They are to bring back an item of significance to show their travels were successful, and then are inducted into the clan as an adult. Males tend to do this ritual more than females. |
