MephitMephits are minor elemental creatures born of the basic components of creation; earth, air, fire, water, ice and lightning. They are more adventurous, curious and mischievous than evil, though their natures vary with the essence of what birthed them. They are also naturally able to cast very minor creation and illusion spells. Mephits are not ones for study or anything that takes a lot effort, and hate sitting still for too long. They are spontaneous and carefree, and so they will typically not have a class... though if they do it is usually a thief, prankster or magician. Mephits cannot be a fighter class or mage class. All mephits appear as small winged creatures with more or less humanoid features. In most their elemental nature is apparent at first glance. All mephits have a form of natural magic, all usually based upon their element, and they are immune to the element they come from. They are able to cast spells from their natural innate magic abilities without the use of magite. Mephits are, however, incapable of using any other magics other than what they are birthed with, their natural element, creation and illusion. Their spells are never grand or large, they can't create balls of fire or lightning bolts, mostly small castings used for defense or small pranks. They are born from an egg or series of eggs (no more than four) produced from the female parent. One egg usually births only one mephit but on the rare occasion it'll house twins- both of the same element. The egg is small, but grows in size until they are ready to be born. Mephits can interbreed, BUT, they do not produce elementally mixed mephits. (Example: An earth mephit and fire mephit mate and produce a litter. Those mephits will either be earth or fire, never both. Applications with mixed mephits will be denied.) Most fully-grown mephits stand no smaller than 8 inches and no taller than 12 inches, the males being taller. (equal to or less than the size of a Barbie doll) Mephits do not have an ounce of fat to their body, and are always lean, chiseled and fit, so their small forms weigh practically nothing. They all have deadly little fangs that are needle sharp. Earth MephitsEarth mephits look like small humanoids. They range in color from earthy tones (shades of brown, gray or green) to the color of most flowers (pink, yellow, orange, blue, violet). Their hair can be about any color, usually a bright vibrant color, sometimes multi-hued. They have small, bat-like wings that fold around their shoulders when not in use. Being of the earth they have tails tipped with a needle sharp spade-like tip that they can use to dig and jab with, which is also prehensile. All have a birthmark of the earth magite symbol somewhere on their body, usually on their cheek, forehead, right shoulder blade, or upper right arm. Earth mephits live just about anywhere, in rocky or desert regions to dense tropical forests, and are vegetarian by nature. Earth mephits don't need any special sleeping arrangements. Air MephitsMasters of flight the Air Mephits have human like bodies, same coloration as most humans, mostly a soft pale peach. Their ears have a slight tip to them, kinda like half-elves, and their hair and eyes can be just about any pale color. They have wings like a bird sprouting from their back, the feathers long and soft. They are the few mephits whose lower body changes, turning into a cloud-like puff when they fly, but are normally shaped when sitting or standing. Their tail is long and thin, the end being tipped with what appears to be and feels like a feather, but is part of the tail, almost resembling the decorative feather of a peacock. They have a birthmark of the air magite symbol somewhere on their body, usually on their cheek, forehead, right shoulder blade, or upper right arm. Air mephits can live anywhere. Fire MephitsHumanoid in appearance fire mephits are usually bright or dark shades of orange or red, even black. Their hair appears like fire itself, red/orange and yellow flickering flames, however this flame does not burn to the touch, it just feels warm. Their wings are bat-like in appearance with the veins glowing like molten lava. Their tales are long and a small flame tips the end of it, similar to their hair. These are considered more demonic in appearance with large horns tipping their heads and claws on hands or feet. All have a birthmark of a the fire magite symbol somewhere on their body, usually on their cheek, forehead, right shoulder blade, or upper right arm. Fire mephits like hot to temperate places. They can withstand cold but they will need to sleep inside a very warm place, like a fireplace or stove, at least once a week. Water MephitsWater mephits typically have the upper body of a human, with webbed fingers, and their skin is usually pale peach, greenish or pearl like. A water mephit's eyes are snake like, or reptilian in shape and coloration, and they'll typically have a snakelike marking, like spots on their forehead or triangles beneath the eyes, on their face. Their hair is long and straight, flowing like water around their shoulders, and is either any shade of blue, yellow, green or brown. They have long, iridescent dragonfly like wings on their backs that allow them to fly, and also allows them to swim very quickly. One of the unique factors about water mephits is that their legs change from humanoid to snake like when are in water, and their tails range in colors of the sea, usually greens, blues, yellows and whites. All have a birthmark of the water drop magite symbol somewhere on their body, usually on their cheek, forehead, right shoulder blade, or upper right arm. Water Mephits can live in either Salt or Fresh water habitats and are found almost everywhere, and must rest in the water at least once a week. Ice MephitsIce Mephits are elegantly shaped mephits, with long slender limbs and angelic faces. Their eyes are large and almond shaped, always pure white or pure black. Their skin is any shade of blue, and their hair is typically white or any shade of blue, and they have a set of horns that look like ice crystals sticking out of their head. Their wings are clear, long and thin, with no veins, looking like a thin sheet of ice. They have a birthmark of the ice magite symbol somewhere on their body, usually on their cheek, forehead, right shoulder blade or upper right arm. Ice Mephits can live anywhere in weather that is cool to frigid. Ice Mephits can live in warm climates and are usually responsible for the frost on summer plants. However in warmer weather they must create a den in a small enclosed area in which they freeze with their magic, to rest inside at least once a week. Lightning MephitsBorn of the essence of electricity the lightning mephits are small humanoid shaped creatures, that look like small elves except with much longer pointed ears and sharp features. Their skin ranges in just about any shade of purple and their hair is long and white or silver, that shimmers lightly. Yet their most striking feature is their eyes, being absent of color all together glowing a soft white. Their wings are bat like and the same color as their flesh, with iridescent pulsing veins running throughout them. They have a thicker tail than earth or fire mephits that thins as it gets towards the tip, much like a lizard's tail. All have a birthmark of the lightning magite symbol somewhere on their body, usually on their cheek, forehead, right shoulder blade, or upper right arm. Lightning mephits can live anywhere. |
