FAQ

Is there a strict posting order? What is proper reply etiquette?

There isn't ever a set or strict "posting order" in the game. In a thread there is normally a plot leader, sometimes two leaders, who make the overall plot progress. You then have all of the characters that interact with one another, various NPCs and situations throughout the plot. During those times when characters are talking or interacting with one another, usually only a couple of people are talking to each other at a time, while the other people are either listening or talking to someone else.

Place yourself into a room for a second, with a bunch of people. Now think really hard on this ask yourself... are you actually going to have a conversation with every single person in that room all at once? Not likely. Usually you have one or two people talking to one another, while others are standing around listening, sometimes jumping in and adding their thoughts to the conversation, or they simply start a conversation with somebody else.

In the cases where a conversation or conflict involves three or more people, then yes, a "posting order" does becomes present between those characters, out of respect for their reactions to the events presented. The characters not involved in that conversation or matter aren’t going to really be a part of that order up and until the player decided to have the character join in on it.

If your character is being directly addressed, then yes they are the next in a posting order. There is also common sense that comes into play. If you are replying too often and not allowing others a chance to say anything, then you should hold off and give others characters a chance to get their voice in there, or at least actions, reactions, so on.

A good rule of thumb is if you are waiting on someone, state so on the OOC board. That way you are voicing your need to want to post, and informing the person you are waiting for that you are indeed waiting on them. Communication is key, that’s what the OOC board is for.

Also remember that if you break your character away from the others, and aren't following somebody else or waiting around, it will be your responsibility to get your character moving and post for them every week.
