Humanoid in appearance with greath feathery barbed wings, the Forsaken are true demons. They are the embodiment of everything dark and depraved. Known to ally themselves with sinister characters, the forsaken will abide by their alliances, but usually find a loop hole somewhere, and they always look out for their own interests above all else.
Cold and cruel, they seem to have no sense of emotion at all, except the joy of killing and spreading misery. They trust no one, not even other forsaken. Greedy for their own power and pleasures, they seek a place by Molrivath’s side, or even to surpass him, plotting and scheming for their own glory.
They look and stand as tall as the average human, and are physically attractive with chiseled facial features and slim muscular bodies. Except for the fact that they look physically ill all the time because of their morbid coloration, from pasty white, any shade of gray, sickly yellow to a dark muddy brown. Their hair is usually limp or wild looking and any dark or dull shade, sometimes with streaks of another placid color running through it. Their eyes are almost always their most sinister characteristic, for if one were to stare into their depths they would see the cold and heartless being they truly are. Their eyes are any color, usually with a slight splash of unnatural eerie violet or red around the iris, and some have a reddening or yellowing of the sclera. The delicate skin around the eye socket is darker as well.
Large bird-like wings sprout from their backs, and are almost always black, but some are a deep red, brown or a very dirty looking gray, with hundreds of sharp barbs along the wing’s spine, making them menacing and deadly weapons. Some forsaken are not gifted with the ability of flight, their wings becoming just a decorative ornament upon their back, usually lacking feathers or are featherless, bony barbed appendages.
Most forsaken are created, not born. However, forsaken can breed with each other to create more forsaken. This is uncommon, though, due to the twisted and violent natures of forsaken. It takes a union of two forsaken with like minds and goals in order for this to occur. Given no one has really had an in depth view of a forsaken’s parenting skills it is hard to say what their parental skills are like. It’s not impossible that a female forsaken may view her child as a prodigy and care for it like any doting parent would, others might abuse their children and create even worse monsters.
Given forsaken stem from celestials, they have the same strange age progression. Not all birthed forsaken reach maturity at the same time, and just as any race mental maturity is just as diverse across all the ages. Forsaken do not have a Middle Age or Elder stage, and their Skill Point progression is different as well.
While forsaken are granted a sort of immortality, they do not age as well as their celestial counterparts. They are also highly susceptible to worldly illnesses, and can succomb to injury like any other mortal being.
0-10 (Toddler) / 11-34 (Child) / 35-99 (Adolescent) / 100-234 (Maturity) / 235-574(Young Adult) / 575 – 950 (Adult) / 950+ (Prime)
Physical maturity typically occurs between the ages of 80-120. This is when a forsaken experiences a major growth spurt, completely molts their childhood feathers for adult feathers, their barbs become more pronounced, and then their aging process starts to significantly slow. Some forsaken reach this physical maturity period faster than others, based on circumstance or heredity.
Humans and forsaken can interbreed, this unholy union creating a misbegotten.
To learn more about the human/forsaken offspring, see the Halfbloods section.
They cannot use Holy magic and they take more damage from Holy magic spells.
Forsaken also exude an aura of darkness, and depending on the forsaken’s age the area of effect increases. Those who are near a forsaken will have any negative feelings amplified, particularly fear. A person would also feel physically and mentally uncomfortable in the presence of a forsaken, most not even realizing why they had a sudden surge of fear and panic while walking the streets at night.
These beings have no true society. They are essentially body snatchers, demonic spirits called Agheon that push out the soul of a celestial and take their minds and form for their own.
Forsaken are extremely cruel, depraved, evil and have no morals what so ever. They view other races as servants, puppets, pawns… and sometimes food. They’d be happy to rape a woman then eat her beaten and battered corpse without a qualm, and it is for this very reason that Misbegotten are extremely rare if unheard of.
It is not known how long a forsaken can live for. A Forsaken can never be redeemed, for their soul is that of a true demonic entity.
